They have a lower weight capacity, ranging from 227 kg to 907 kg, and are designed to transport fewer people and lighter loads. Despite their small size, home elevators are equipped with advanced safety features, such as emergency stop buttons, automatic lighting, and interlocks to ensure maximum safety of passengers. These elevators are typically designed for homes with 2 or more floors. Most models able to serve up to 5 floors, although some can serve up to 6 floors depending on the specific design and capacity.

Types of Home Elevators

Hydraulic Elevators: Hydraulic elevators are the most common type of home elevator. They are powered by a hydraulic pump that moves a piston in a cylinder to lift the elevator cab. Hydraulic elevators are suitable for homes with up to 5 floors and can carry up to 450 kg.
Traction Elevators: Traction elevators use steel ropes or belts to move the elevator cab up and down. These elevators are suitable for homes with up to 6 floors and can carry up to 1134kgs. Traction elevators are generally more expensive than hydraulic elevators but are more efficient and require less maintenance.
Pneumatic Elevators: Pneumatic elevators use air pressure to move the elevator cab. These elevators are suitable for homes with up to 4 floors and can carry up to 204 kg. Pneumatic elevators are a great option for homeowners who want a compact and space-saving elevator.
Wheelchair Elevators: Wheelchair elevators are designed specifically for individuals with mobility issues. These elevators are suitable for homes with up to 2 floors and can carry up to 340 kg. Wheelchair elevators are generally less expensive than other types of home elevators and require less maintenance.
