Freight Elevators

Freight elevators, also know as cargo or goods elevators, are specialized types of elevators that are designed to transport goods and heavy materials rather than passengers. They typically have larger weight capacities and more robust construction than regular passenger elevators, as they are required to carry heavier loads and withstand the wear and tear of frequent use. Freight elevators are commonly used in warehouses, factories, and other industrial settings, as well as in commercial buildings that require the transportation of large items such as furniture or equipment. They often feature larger car dimensions, wider doors, and stronger suspension systems than passenger elevators.

Types of Freight Elevators

Hydraulic Freight Elevators: These elevators are powered by hydraulic cylinders that raise and lower the elevator car. They are typically used for low to mid-rise buildings and have a weight capacity of up to 4,535 kg.
Traction Freight Elevators: Traction elevators use a system of ropes and counterweights to lift and lower the elevator car. They are commonly used in high-rise buildings and can have weight capacities of up to 13,607 kg or more.
Sidewalk Elevators: These are outdoor elevators that are designed to lift goods and equipment from ground level to the level of a loading dock or warehouse. They are often used in industrial facilities and construction sites.
Pallet Elevators: Pallet elevators are designed to transport goods on pallets between different levels of a building. They are commonly used in warehouses and distribution centers.
Inclined Elevators: Inclined elevators are designed to move goods and equipment up or down steep inclines, such as in mines, quarries, or ski resorts. They can have a weight capacity of up to several tons.
Specialized Freight Elevators: There are also specialized freight elevators that are designed for specific industries or applications. For example, explosion-proof freight elevators are used in hazardous environments, and cold storage freight elevators are used in refrigerated warehouses.
